What:
The youth retreats are an overnight get away, from Friday evening to Sunday morning.
If you're not sure what all happens at a youth retreat, here are some examples of things we've done in past:
- Meet new and old friends
- Learn something new about God, Jesus, and your relationship with the Lord - usually done in a theme session, where we spend an hour or so listening, sharing with each other, and experiencing or practicing what we're learning about.
- Participate in at least one fun activity, such as bowling, swimming, outdoor movie, scavenger hunt, playing at the gym, going to the lake, dances....
- Experience a "campfire" - we'll sing, tell jokes, do skits, and enjoy the fire.
- At most retreats, we offer classes, such as hacky sack, basketball, crafts, leadership, volleyball, etc.
- Participate
in Saturday/Sunday morning worship times. Sometimes it means you have
the opportunity to help plan the service, others are designed so that
you can experience what the staff would like to share with you.
No one is ever forced to share in a worship service. We don't put
people on the spot.
