The Farmington Church was started in the mid 1800's by Elder Warnock, his wife Martha and daughter Susan. On January 8, 1867 the church was officially organized by Elder Alexander Struthers. Later the church was disorganized but in 1946 a study group formed and was sponsored by the Ft. Madison church until 1963 when the Farmington group became known as the Farmington Mission.
